3 Titan Builds Destiny 2 Players Shouldn’t Sleep on in Season of the Wish

Highlights

  • Peregrine Greaves is now a lethal choice for Titan builds in Season of the Wish, allowing players to one-shot Champions and deal significant boss damage. It also provides potentially infinite melee energy.
  • Severance Enclosure has incredible add-clearing potential, with the ability to create explosions whenever players score a power melee or finisher kill. It is effective in both solo and group content.
  • Wormgod Caress has become a strong pick with the Season of the Wish buff, providing up to 275% increased melee and glaive melee damage. It is easy to use and offers an incredible damage multiplier potential for Strand Titan builds.

One of the most interesting and fun aspects of Destiny 2‘s gameplay in its modern era is that Bungie started putting a lot of emphasis on buildcrafting, and so both build variety and loot value became a priority for most players and content types. Weapon crafting was a big part of this, as it made god rolls more easily attainable for all players, just making it faster for those who are dedicated to endgame activities and farming. The addition of multiple Exotics in Destiny 2 also contributes to making more builds available each season, and Season of the Wish is no exception, coming with three new Titan builds that players should try out.

While not all builds may be suitable for Grandmaster Nightfall level of content in Destiny 2, there are plenty of activities where some combinations can work very well, potentially helping out fans to achieve solo flawless completions in Dungeons or have an easier time in Raids. Season of the Wish overhauled 20 Destiny 2 Exotics, and although it didn’t add new ones, the older armor pieces that were changed are in most cases very good now. This includes three different Exotics for Titans:

  • Peregrine Greaves
  • Severance Enclosure
  • Wormgod Caress

Peregrine Greaves

Builds for Peregrine Greaves have been around well before the buff in Destiny 2‘s Season of the Wish, but now they can be all the more lethal. The main pros of Peregrine Greaves builds in Season 23 include:

  • The ability to one-shot many Champions and deal significant boss damage
  • Potentially infinite melee energy
  • Available for most subclasses, with Solar, Void, Arc, and Strand being preferable choices
  • Powerful in solo and group content

The Exotic now allows players to deal massive amounts of damage to targets, refunding melee energy entirely when hitting mini-bosses, Champions, and Tormentors. For example, since Nezarec is a Tormentor, Destiny 2 players using Peregrine Greaves could get an easy Raid completion.

Severance Enclosure

Like Peregrine Greaves, Severance Enclosure is not new to the space of buildcrafting in Destiny 2, but it gained a significant buff in Season of the Wish. This armor piece now grants players the ability to create explosions whenever they score a power melee or finisher kill, which can be easier or harder depending on the subclass, and each explosion kill will create subsequent explosions. The main pros of Severance Enclosure builds in Season 23 are:

  • Incredible add-clearing potential
  • Little reliance on melee ability energy on Solar, Void, and Arc subclasses
  • Good explosion damage
  • Powerful in solo and group content

Wormgod Caress

Synthoceps Titan builds in Destiny 2 have dominated for a long time as the best melee-oriented choice, but with the Season of the Wish nerfs to Titans’ Synthoceps and a buff to Wormgod Caress, the latter can finally shine. Now providing up to 275% increased melee and glaive melee damage when its meter is sitting at tier 5, Wormgod Caress is an incredibly strong pick in any content, especially as a Strand substitute for Synthoceps. Comparatively, Synthoceps now provide 165% melee damage, which is what Wormgod grants to players who have their meter at tier 3, meaning it’s overall easy to maintain. The main pros of Wormgod Caress builds in Season 23 are:

  • Ease of use, requiring melee or glaive melee kills to activate
  • Incredible damage multiplier potential for Strand Titan builds
  • Bonus damage meter affected by decay, going from the current tier to the next lower one, and so on
  • Powerful in solo and group content
