Helldivers 2 has been facing a multitude of issues recent, from the PSN controversy in May to consistent performance issues, especially on PC. With 90% of the player base abandoning the game, which is understandable and natural for most titles, Arrowhead Game Studios is at a crucial point in the game’s lifecycle. It looks like the developers are hard at work bringing the game to where players want it to be as much-needed performance issues are set to be addressed this week.

In response to a Reddit post titled ‘It’s time to acknowledge PC performance issues,’ which detailed the need for the many issues plaguing Helldivers 2 to be addressed, the Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani responded on X saying “Performance will be a focus next.” Then, on July 1st, Jorjani responded to an X user detailing the performance they’re facing by saying “Update coming this week by the looks of it! hope it does the trick! but we’ll keep at it regardless.”

This is unexpected news as Arrowhead Game Studios is currently on summer vacation, but some developers must still working as the team recently patched the Superior Packing Methodology Ship Module that has been broken for many months. Due to the summer vacation, it doesn’t look like we will be seeing much new content over the next month, but it is great to see performance issues being addressed during this time.

Despite there not being much new content coming to the game, the Major Orders will still be happening because the Galactic War doesn’t take a vacation. Currently, the Helldivers are liberating the final of five planets to keep the Terminids at bay.
