Brooklyn Bedding’s Answer to the Firmest Flippable Mattress: Plank Firm Luxe Review – Video

Hey, how’s it going? This is Owen, I’m Ace. And in today’s video, we’re covering the top five most important things you need to know about the Plank Firm Lux with a name like that. You would expect this mattress to be ultra firm and that is what you’re gonna be getting, but there’s a lot to cover and there’ll be a ton of information down below in the description. If you want to learn more about this mattress and all the other beds that are called plank. And if you find this video helpful or interesting, give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel, we’d really appreciate it. But let’s just dive right into the number one, most important thing you need to know about this mattress and that’s gonna be its firmest profile. One, really nice thing about the plank Firm Lux and all the other plank mattresses is that you get two firmest profiles in one mattress because this bed has a flipp design. Most other flipp beds, we’ve tested like the layla layla hybrid and the Brentwood Crystal Cove have a sun side and a firm side plank instead has a firm side and an extra firm side. So the extra firm side we have at basically a true firm like a 10 out of 10 when it comes to firmness. So if you are a strict back or stomach sleeper looking for as little give as possible in your mattress, then this will probably be the side of plank for you. The other side, the firm side is gonna be a little bit softer than that. So that should make it a little bit more accommodating for accommodation Zers who maybe spend part of the night on your side. But either way with this flipp design, you’re getting two pretty darn firm options to choose from. So hopefully you like one of them moving on to the construction and feel of the Plank Firm Lux, you’re gonna be getting more of just a responsive firm foam feel on either side of the mattress, which is what you would expect. It doesn’t really use any memory foam. So you’re not really gonna sink into it at all and it doesn’t use a latex foam either like a different version of plank called the Plank Natural. That bed has a more buoyant sort of responsive feel. This is still responsive, but it just feels like firm, firm foam, almost like you’re laying on a piece of wood with a thin layer of foam on top. And then the third thing you should know about the plank firm Lux is how it differs from the other two plank mattresses. So the biggest thing about the plank firm Lux, in comparison to the base model plank firm is that this bed is slightly thicker. So it uses a bit more foam. And instead of using foam as its main support layer, it uses coils, coils is really the big ticket item here because the additional layers of foam don’t really impact the feel and firmness of the bed all that much. And having coils though will mean it’s gonna be a bit more supportive and durable over the long term, especially if you’re heavier body types. And then there is the plank firm natural, which subs out the polyurethane based comfort foams for natural latex foam. The feel will be a bit different. Like I mentioned earlier. Also, we did find on the plank natural for it to be a little bit softer on each side, but not really that much to really change the overall value proposition, which is a flipp firm bed. And then the fourth thing you should know about this mattress is gonna be its policy set. This is stuff like shipping returns, trial periods and warranties. So this mattress will ship at no extra cost inside of a large box unboxing. It is pretty quick and easy to do. Although I do recommend having someone there to help you out because it makes the process go a lot more smoothly. And especially if you’re getting like a queen or a king size it can be a little bit unwieldy as well once the bed arrives at your door and not when you start sleeping on it. That is a key thing to know if you leave it in the box for a while that will eat into your trial period. So you want to get it unboxed as quickly as possible and really start sleeping on it because you have 100 and 20 night trial period, which is a little bit longer than usual. But you obviously want to be able to use all of it to really determine if you like the mattress or not. If you decide that you don’t within the trial period, you can return it. Although there will be a $99 fee deducted from your refund. We are seeing more and more brains start to do this kind of return fee and if you decide to keep the bed, which you probably will, you’re looking at a standard 10 year warranty. So this is kind of a basic set of policies a little bit longer with the trial period and a return fee while some other brands are still doing free returns. So more info about these policies down below in the description, if you’re curious. And then the fifth and final thing you need to know about this mattress is gonna be its price point. It does sit right in the middle of all three plank mattresses in terms of price and it’s not that much more expensive than the base model plank firm for a queen size. It has a retail price of $1532 and it will regularly go on discount. And right now you can pick one up for about 1150 bucks, which is a very steep discount. It might not be discounted that level all the time, but there should be a discount on it pretty much year round. So make sure you look down below in the description for whatever we’re able to find on it. And that leaves us with the question who should consider picking up the Plank Firm Lux for themselves. And I think anyone seeking out an ultra firm mattress, this is gonna be a great option especially because you’re only looking at about a $200 price gap between this mattress that features coils and the base model plank firm that features foam. I think a lot of sleepers out there will like the idea of having a firm coil mattress as opposed to having a firm foam mattress. And one nice thing about the plank lineup as a whole is that all three beds are not crazy expensive, especially given their specialized design, being ultra firm and being flipp. So if you’re looking for a super firm bed, I think this should be on your short list. But let us know what you think about the Plank firm Lux write it down below in the comments and again, tons of stuff in the description, including a full detailed written review of this bed.
