Kawara Welch, 23, began harassing the man after he treated her for depression in 2018, the doctor, who kept his identity under wraps, told news magazine show Fantastico, according to the Daily Mail.

He noted that Welch, a model — according to her Instagram bio — would wait near the hospital he worked at, located in the city of Ituiutaba, and would follow him once his shifts were over.

“She said that it wasn’t a coincidence, that no one saves someone else’s life so many times out of the blue, that there was something more to it,” the doctor alleged.

He also said that the woman broke into his clinic and “chased him several times” outside his office.

Welch eventually got a hold of his phone number and bombarded him with calls and emails, according to the doctor.

She even allegedly threatened the physician, saying she would tell his son that they were romantically involved.

“She had access to my cellphone and started sending really disturbing messages and photos, tying a sheet, a rope around her neck, saying goodbye to me,” he recounted. “I panicked.”

The doctor said he changed his phone number several times but she always managed to get his updated contact information.

“She ended up, in a special situation, sending me 1,300 messages in one day,” he recalled. “And calls, she sent me more than 500 calls in one day, a single day.”

The doctor filed 42 police reports, with Welch even signing a document with the district attorney’s office in 2020 that she would not contact him.

However, in 2022, Welch allegedly spun out of control and broke into his office while he was treating a patient, and allegedly assaulted the doctor’s wife.

The following year, the doctor said, Welch confronted the man again.

She was arrested for assault and stealing a cell phone but was released a week later on bail.

In March 2024, a judge approved that she be detained over the theft and for ignoring the restraining order, the Mail reported.

Welch’s attorney Jean Alves insists that there is enough evidence that shows the two were romantically involved, however Civil Police Chief Rafael Faria countered that authorities “believe there was no such relationship.”

He added: “And, even if there were, it does not in any way justify this type of action, this type of conduct by Kawara.”
