Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 is on the way. It’s a really exciting update that promises lots of new content for CoD players to enjoy. Some of the new upcoming content includes new maps and new events, as well as a crossover with The Walking Dead. Here you will find the MW3 Season 2 preload date and expected download size ahead of launch.

The release date for MW3 Season 2 is February 7th. Activision had teased new Operators for the upcoming season, and the leaks were true about a collaboration with The Walking Dead. For The Walking Dead crossover, there will be a Fear The Living event, and players will also be able to get Rick Grimes and Michonne as two new Operators.

All of the above is really exciting for the Call of Duty community and there’s plenty else to anticipate from day one of the update.

How to preload MW3 Season 2

You should be able to preload and download MW3 Season 2 on February 7th. Season 1 was able to preload on launch day a few hours before the chapter’s start time on PlayStation and PC via battle.net.

If you own a PS4 or PS5 and have Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 installed, the preload should happen automatically provided you have enough free storage space. If the download doesn’t happen automatically on February 7th, follow the below steps:

  • Turn on your PS5
  •  Head to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 on the PS5 home screen
  •  Select options on your DualSense controller
  •  Click check for update

Expected MW3 Season 2 download size
