How to Get String in Enshrouded
As mentioned above, String is an important crafting material you’ll need early in Enshrouded. There are two ways to get string:
- Crafting it yourself
- Finding it in the world.
To craft string in Enshrouded, you will need plant fibers. Getting plant fibers is fairly straightforward- you can easily harvest them from small bushes and plants as you explore the expansive world. One piece of string will require three plant fibers, and you’ll get around three fibers with each harvest.
These plants that we are talking about are those that resemble small saplings. As you approach them, the game will show you a ‘Collect’ prompt. Just tap on it, and you’ll gather plant fibers. Make sure not to confuse them with larger trees. If you try to harvest larger plants, ones that usually need an axe, you’ll get resin and wood, not plant fibers.
Although it is quite easy to craft a string in the game, you can try finding it in the world if you don’t want to craft it. For that, you will have to look for items like barrels and chests and destroy them. They may sometimes give you strings, but they’re not a reliable source and can take some time. To find these, you can look for Points of Interest on the map, which will indicate the locations of barrels.
It would be better to craft your own string from plant fibers. Plants are everywhere in Enshrouded, and you can harvest as many as you like. Finding the string isn’t as reliable because you can’t be sure if you’ll find it or get the amount you need. After crafting strings, you can use them to craft various items, such as the workbench, grappling hook, and glider.
