The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 update continues to be a hit with the community, though a few players aren’t quite enjoying some of the changes Epic Games has made with the latest patch. After suffering several deaths at the hands of a particularly powerful weapon, one player went on Reddit to frustratedly share a video montage of their recent losses caused by sniper rifles, complaining that the gun is OP and the current Fortnite update makes it “much easier to predict shots.”

But despite several fans already discussing how “rough” Fortnite snipers can be in the current meta, most players who commented under the previously mentioned Reddit thread didn’t agree with the post creator’s sentiment. In fact, many of the responses below the post essentially told them to ‘git gud,’ as one player said: “Even Batman couldn’t get me to release a montage of me getting headshot sniped.” At the same time, another added: “Over half of these would be prevented if you didn’t play wrong.”

“Brother, you just have poor awareness and movement,” said another commenter. “I’m not that good of a player, but I really only get sniped if I am knowingly over-challenging/peaking a sniper.” Some people also pointed out that the post creator didn’t have full health and shield in most of the clips shown, meaning that a mere body shot from a sniper rifle could have taken them down quickly.

Luckily, it wasn’t all negative for the unfortunate post creator, as one player finally agreed: “Yup, I hate it. This is how I die in pretty much every game I don’t win now. There’s just no counter to it. I can have full shields, full health, medallions, and be trying to move as much as possible. I’ll still just be deleted by someone who’s spent the game hiding in a bush.” “God, I loved it when snipers were originally removed and replaced with bows,” they finished.

It remains unclear whether Epic Games plans on doing anything about these player complaints regarding the sniper rifle, as the Fortnite developer has yet to respond. However, we will keep an eye on the situation and provide any updates as soon as it’s confirmed.
