Genshin Impact could be adding 5-Star weapons to the in-game store, as a recent leak suggests that players will be able to purchase 5-Star weapons directly as part of a gift package. Even if it didn’t come to fruition, it’s no secret that the latest law proposal in China has caused the Genshin Impact community to wonder if HoYoverse would be making any changes to the game’s gacha system. While there is a way to guarantee limited 5-Star characters in Genshin Impact after a certain number of pulls, no such option exists for 4-Star characters or the Standard Banner.
Genshin Impact players have long been hoping for HoYoverse to expand the in-game store, as only a handful of 4-Star characters can be purchased by exchanging Starglitter. The monthly rotation features two 4-Star characters in Genshin Impact, and has a six-month cycle. While it has allowed fans to obtain constellations for Lisa, Kaeya, and Amber, the Genshin Impact community feels that having more options couldn’t hurt.

Given that leakers have managed to obtain information about Natlan, the floodgates for Fontaine’s remaining updates have opened. Little Teyvat, a reliable source frequently shared on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, revealed that Genshin Impact will be adding a new “gift package” featuring 5-Star weapons. While the exact details of this mechanism are unknown, its tag implies that it would be purchasable from the same tab as the Welkin Moon subscription and the Adventurer’s Bundles, and the original post can be viewed here.
If HoYoverse does follow through with the new gift package, it could be the perfect opportunity to make weapons such as Beacon of the Reed Sea, Hunter’s Path, or Jade Cutter obtainable again. With rumors of a third character banner potentially coming in the near future, it’s clear that the developers are looking at making changes to Genshin Impact‘s monetization. Version 4.4 will add Gaming and Xianyun to Genshin Impact, raising the total number of characters to 83. With its ever-growing roster of characters and weapons, the current gacha model in Genshin Impact is being pushed to its limit, as some fans have to wait well over a year just to pull for their favorite 5-Stars.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen if and when HoYoverse implements 5-Star weapons into Genshin Impact‘s in-game store. Version 4.4 of Genshin Impact will focus on the Lantern Rite, and will allow players to pick a free Liyue 4-Star character of their choice. The earliest that any changes could occur would be in Version 4.5, when Chiori is set to make her debut alongside Albedo’s rerun.
