Five days before the Ontario Hockey League trade deadline, the 67’s slide continued.

Ottawa dropped its fifth game in a row Friday night at TD Place, falling 4-2 to the North Bay Battalion.

The loss left the 67’s record at 18-15-2, while North Bay improved to 18-13-6.
Dalyn Wakely scored twice for the Battalion, with Brice Cooke, Anthony Romani and Owen Van Steensel adding the others.
Kaleb Lawrence and Chris Barlas replied for the 67’s.
The final score flattered Ottawa, as goalie Max Donoso was the team’s best player.
The 67’s had just three shots in the second period on Battalion goalie Dom DiVincentiis.
Still, the home team trailed just 2-1 until Wakely scored his second in the first minute of the final frame.
After Cooke opened the scoring near the midway mark of the opening period, Lawrence tied things up with the 67’s enjoying a two-man advantage.
The score remained deadlocked through most of the second period — despite North Bay having two clear cut breakaways — until Wakely put the visitors ahead three minutes before the intermission.
The 67’s are back in action at TD Place Saturday afternoon with the Kingston Frontenacs providing the opposition. Start time is 3 p.m.
