Japanese clothing giant UNIQLO will release a new collection of t-shirts based on the Street Fighter and Tekken franchises in February 2024. The line will surely appeal to hardcore fans as it will feature the two series’ legendary iconographies and characters.

Street Fighter and Tekken are two of the most beloved franchises in the fighting game space. The former, considered a pioneer in the fighting game genre, released its eponymous debut title all the way back in 1987, while the first Tekken game came out later in 1994. Both franchises have since captivated generations of gamers in arcades around the world, and even now the series’ releases continue to trade blows over which should hold the title of best fighting game.

Uniqlo, Japan’s affordable, casual fashion brand, has made another great anime collaboration – this time with Attack on Titan.

UNIQLO has collaborated with all sorts of media franchises, and with the popularity that Street Fighter and Tekken have accumulated, it should come as no surprise that the fashion retailer has announced a new collection of t-shirts based on the two series. The Fighting Game Legends UT collection that was revealed on December 14 includes three shirts for each series.Set to come out in Japan on February 26, 2024, the new UNIQLO Street Fighter and Tekken tees will cost 1,500 Yen, or around $10, a piece.

The Fighting Game Legends UT collection shirts will feature the respective franchises’ beloved characters, illustrations, and logos. Among the featured characters are longtime Street Fighter protagonist Ryu as well as Luke, who is the face of the series’ latest mainline game, Street Fighter 6. Meanwhile, Tekken will be represented by the hero-turned-villain Kazuya Mishima and the masked wrestler King, both of whom are confirmed characters in the upcoming Tekken 8.

Street Fighter and UNIQLO have actually partnered in the past, but it appears that the Fighting Game Legends UT will be the latter’s first release for the Tekken series. UNIQLO constantly joins forces with all sorts of media properties, not just video games. A recent prominent collaboration was UNIQLO’s line of shirts for the critically acclaimed Chainsaw Man series. UNIQLO has also released clothes for other popular series like Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia, among others.

It’s unclear if UNIQLO’s Fighting Game Legends UT collection will ever be released in North America. Fans of the Street Fighter and Tekken franchises in the region should not lose hope, though, as previous UNIQLO releases like the Chainsaw Man collection actually made it stateside. Some UNIQLO partnerships do not even appear in Japan, like the recent UNIQLO x Studio Ghibli collection that was released exclusively in Thailand and Singapore.
