Bethesda Delays Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update

The Fallout X (formally Twitter) announced that the next-gen update for Fallout 4 would take longer than they initially thought. It has been delayed to 2024, but no specific month or date. Many had thought the update wouldn’t come at all, so some news is good news in this case.

As stated on Twitter, Fallout 4 will not be getting its next-gen update this year but will instead come out next year. While a delay may make it seem like it will be late in 2024, that may not be the case. Fallout 4 was released very soon after its original announcement, so Bethesda is familiar with giving release dates soon after announcements are made.

Some may think this means they may launch it as a paid option, which is hard to say isn’t fair. The team at Bethesda has to dedicate time and energy to this, and they want to push their new paid mod service. If it’s just a reskin, why not pay for it? They deserve compensation as long as it’s not an unreasonable price. Still, I can see the excessive fee attached to the upgrade.

We’ll have to wait and see for an official update on when, but this confirms that the upgrade is not dead. So we can at least feel comfort in knowing they haven’t entirely given up on the project. We’ll have to keep our ears open for any new updates, but for now, a next-gen update for Fallout 4 looks like a long wait.
