Lego Fortnite: Malachite

Malachite is not only very durable but also an extremely beautiful resource that you can find in the Frostlands Mountains. And to mine it, you need an Epic Pickaxe. Open the map and see if there is any white-colored biome nearby. If not, start exploring the world more thoroughly to find a snowy location because this is Frostlands.

When you find the right biome, the next step is to get to the local snowy mountains because that’s where Malachite spawns. While in the mountains, look around, the main landmark will be a stone with green gems on it. Approach and break it with the Epic Pickaxe to finally get the long-awaited Malachite.

If you’re wondering how to get Granite Slabs in LEGO Fortnite, here’s how to get this essential resource.

How to Prepare Before Searching for Malachite

Lego Fortnite: Malachite

Don’t rush to go searching for it because you’ll need to prepare carefully first to at least survive, not to mention breaking the ore. Since Malachite is one of the most durable resources in the game, you’ll need to get the best Epic pickaxe to break the deposit. Here are the resources you need to craft an Epic Pickaxe:

  • Frostpine Rods x5
  • Obsidian Slab x8

The Obsidian Slab is not that difficult to get, as you just have to visit a cave and mine obsidian with the Rare Pickaxe, then use Stonebreaker to get the Obsidian Slab. In the case of Frostpine Rods, everything is much more complicated because here you need a Frostpine tree, which grows only in Frostlands and can be cut exclusively with the Epic Forest Axe. So, foremost, take care of crafting Epic Forest Axe. Compared to a pickaxe, it’s much easier to do; here are the resources you’ll need:

  • Copper Bar x3
  • Knotroot Rod x3

Copper Bar is the result of processing Copper in a Metal Smelter, so take a Rare Pickaxe and run to the cave to get this resource. Knotroot Rod can be obtained by placing a Knoot in the Lumber Mill, in a 1-to-1 ratio. As for the Knoot, you can find it in Forest caves on walls, ceilings, or the ground. It looks like a twisted root and you can cut it down with the Uncommon Forest Axe.

It is also worth noting that you will need to have an Epic Work Bench, which will also be a problem for poorly developed players. To make it, you will need to modify the Work Bench in order from common to epic rarity. Here is information about all the types of Work Bench and the resources you have to get:

Work Bench Rarity Resources
Common
  • Wood – 3 pieces
  • Granite – 5 pieces
Uncommon
  • Shells – 3 pieces
  • Planks – 8 pieces
Rare
  • Sand Shells – 3 pieces
  • Sand Claws – 6 pieces
  • Knotroot Rods – 12 pieces
  • Marble Slabs – 15 pieces
Epic
  • Brute Scale – 1 piece
  • Copper Bars – 15 pieces
  • Obsidian Slabs – 25 pieces

So when all the crafts are done, and you finally receive the Epic Pickaxe, you will have the opportunity to break Malachite. Before you go looking for it, you will also need to prepare for the cold environment so that you don’t freeze and die. Spicy Peppers, which you can find in the desert biome, will help you in this case. Eating one of them will give you resistance to cold for 2 minutes. So, stock up on more of them, and then you can go traveling.
