S-tier cards in Pool Five are Jeff!, Kitty Pryde, Black Knight, and Iron Lad. A-tier cards are Thanos, Alitoh, Nebula, X-23, Werewolf by Night, Nico Minoru, and High Evolutionary. And unpopular cards like The Phoenix Force, Lady Deathstrike, Silver Samurai, and Howard the Duck are at the bottom of the tier list.

The Best Cards in Pool Five
Cards that are worth the grind and price are Jeff!, Kitty Pryde, Black Knight, and Iron Lad. These are versatile characters that integrate into most archetypes and offer the highest synergy with lower Pool variants. Here’s why they deserve to be in the S-tier category:
- Jeff, the Baby Land Shark, is the best bang for the buck. He has a unique ability to move to any location, regardless of the effects. Jeff is the only card that can fly in and out of locked lanes, often serving as a cheap, unexpected win condition.
- Kitty Pryde is among the top META cards of all time. She returns to hand after each turn with +1 Power, creating a killer synergy with Angela and Elsa Bloodstone.
- Black Knight is a discard deck must. When played, he adds a cheap Ebony Blade to hand with the Power of the last discarded card. This allows for massive early-game attacks through targeting cards like The Infinaut.
- Iron Lad is the ultimate synergy source for all archetypes. With the ability to copy the text of the deck’s top card, he can be incorporated into all sorts of play styles. And that makes him the best card in Pool Five.
The Worst Cards in Pool Five
With the lowest price-performance ratio, the least favored cards in Series Five are The Phoenix Force, Lady Deathstrike, Silver Samurai, and Howard the Duck. They are exiled to the D-tier because of their limited synergies, excessive RNG, and inconsistent outcomes.
Here’s why they deserve to be at the bottom of the tier list.
- The Phoenix Force holds a minimal META share compared to other Pool Five cards. While the idea of reviving a discarded card, merging with it, and transforming it into a mobile character seems promising, it yields little to no return on investment in practice.
- Lady Deathstrike is an overly situational card. In some cases, she could damage the friendly side.
- Silver Samurai is a high-Cost card for what he does. His ability to remove the lowest-Power card in both players’ hands is practical. But it’s not worth the grind, as they are far better replacements in lower Pools.
- Howard the Duck only synergizes with one or two cards. Other than that, he’s mostly a passive character with no extraordinary value on the board.
