Lethal Company: All ranks, explained

The more you play Lethal Company, the more you’ll start to unlock new ranks. But what do ranks even mean, and what are the best ways to increase your ranks?

This co-op survival horror game has you meeting your company’s quota in three days time for the chance to rank up at your job. We’ll explain everything below.

All ranks in Lethal Company

At this point in time, there are only five ranks you can achieve. You’ll start off as an Intern, and work your way up to the rest of them:

  • Intern: 0-50 XP
  • Part-Time: 50-100 XP
  • Employee: 100-200 XP
  • Leader: 200-500 XP
  • Boss: 500 XP

Each time that you sell scrap after reaching the third and final day of your expeditions, you’ll gain a certain amount of XP. This all depends on how good you did on the job. You can tell how well you did by the grade chart at the end of each day. If your entire squad dies on the job, you lose all your loot and get the worst possible score. But if you collect a ton of loot that day, you could get up to A or S grade.

Reaching a new rank doesn’t seem to affect the game much. Although, with each higher quota comes the opportunity of new moons, which means higher hazard levels. Lethal Company is still in Early Access, so perhaps in the future more ranks will come. But for now, good luck with ranking up.

The easiest way to rank up in Lethal Company is to collect as much scrap as possible, especially the more expensive scrap. Each map is procedurally generated with a random amount of loot to grab, but you should collect the majority of it to receive that S grade. The higher your grade each day, the more XP you’ll receive for ranking up.

Reaching Leader or Boss rank sounds pretty difficult. The riskier the moon, the worse creatures there are, leading to a higher chance of death. Make sure to also focus on the bigger loot that’s most expensive, such as the Apparatus you can find in some facilities.
