Nintendo Switch Online Gets Three More Spooky Retro Classics

Nintendo has announced three more retro games for the Nintendo Switch Online library, and they’re perfect for spooky season.

Last week saw the addition of Mario Party 3 to the service’s Expansion Pack addon, but you won’t need that to play the three new titles, one of which has never been released in the US before.

First up, it’s Castlevania Legends, a non-canon entry to the series that revolves around vampire hunter Sonia Belmont.

Sonia’s adventure is worth experiencing if you’re a Castlevania fan.

This one’s excluded from Castlevania Anniversary Collection, so it’s great that it’s been added to Switch Online, as there’s no real legitimate way to play it on modern systems otherwise.

Along those same lines, the next game in the new Nintendo Switch Online drop is Devil World, a maze puzzler that’s never been released outside the US, supposedly due to Nintendo of America’s policy against including religious iconography in its games.

Thankfully, the Nintendo of today has decided the game is worthy of inclusion on Nintendo Switch Online, so give it a look if you like Pac-Man but wish it was more blasphemous.

The final game being added to Nintendo Switch Online today is The Mysterious Murasame Castle.

If you can imagine The Legend of Zelda crossed with Ninja Gaiden, you’re not a million miles off; Murasame Castle is a fast-paced action-adventure game with a top-down viewpoint and pretty murderous difficulty.

This one got a release in the West, but only on 3DS, and since it’s not possible to get it on that platform anymore, experiencing it via Switch Online is the way to go.

All three of these games are available to play on Nintendo Switch Online right now, along with plenty of other NES, SNES, and Game Boy games.

Picking up the Expansion Pack addon allows you to play Sega Genesis games and N64 titles as well, and it’ll also grant access to DLC for Splatoon 2Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
