A new job post by developer Neowiz on the Koren job board for Lies of P reveals that the intention for the studio is to release new DLC. Without spoiling the ending to the game, there was a hint at what is coming next and it is possible that DLC involving the Wizard of Oz is on the horizon.
According to the tweet showing the posting the project introduction includes a “Soul-like genre faithful to sophisticated combat and level design… Lies of P’s unique story that reinterprets the classic masterpiece…” and below those is “DLC planned for production.” This is confirmation that the team definitely is working on DLC for the Lies of P game, and that they’re hiring employees to focus on it.
Minor spoilers, but there is a golden stargazer that you can’t interact with at all. A Redditor has discovered that in-game files can only be accessed by DLC code and not by the P character. Many think that the yellow stargazer references the yellow brick road that Dorothy must walk through to get to the wizard of Oz.
The DLC very well may not have anything to do with Dorothy or the Wizard of Oz as alluded to in the game. That could be for a sequel, and the DLC may be for another story in the Lies of P universe. This is just what many players are thinking because the Wizard of Oz was the only real tease given to players. It would be strange for the studio only to tease the sequel knowing that DLC would be released. DLC tends to take prioirty over future games because they come much sooner.
Our money is on the DLC having something to do with the Wizard of Oz or prepping the story for the Wizard of Oz. The DLC could act as a kind of bridge between the two stories. Either way, there’s enough there to assume the golden stargazer has something to do with the next DLC.
