The EV Zug team defied the harsh winter and defended their top six spot. Central Switzerland defeated the Rapperswil-Jonah Lakers 5-2 at home.

After losing three of their last four games, Zug could be pushed into seventh place by a Lakers team that has won its last two games. But after a promising start for the guests, that scenario remains hypothetical. Mike Kunzler, Attilio Biasca, double goal scorer Gregory Hoffman and Lino Matschini made that clear with their sometimes stunning goals – — Especially since Zug goalkeeper Tim Wolfe was only beaten in the final third, when the score was 5-0.

Zug is fifth with 78 goals and after 22 games their attack is the strongest in the league. The Lakers, who scored 19 fewer times, were five points behind eighth place.

The game started fifteen minutes late due to unreliable traffic conditions. (lst/sda)
