Today Ramjet Studios released a new video showing upcoming content, changes, and features for its open-world zombie survival game Vein.
As usual for this studio, the video provides a look at what is coming in future updates, even if it isn’t fully ready to be deployed just yet. At some point in the future, we’ll get another video similar to what we got for Update 0.008, showing what made it into the patch.
We start with taking a look at the map, which is getting a new town that will have a public school, an archery shop, a church, and some hardware stores.
The video continues with changes made to weapons and the addition of the Mosin Nagant rifle. More features involve character modifiers like cooked food that is more effective than uncooked food, and antidepressants affecting stress.
Some big changes are coming to crafting, including fortifications made with wood and limestone bricks to keep the zombies out of your base.
We then get to see two new vehicles (a 4-seater SUV and a box truck), sleeping zombies, fortifications interacting differently with different damage types, item respawning, and more.
The video continues with changes to visuals, including water, weather, and wounds. There’s plenty more, and you can check everything out in the video below.
If Vein doesn’t ring a bell, it’s a new zombie survival game in a similar vein to 7 Days to Die but the gameplay philosophy is more similar to the realism and level of detail that you can find in Project Zomboid.
For now, the main platform for the game is PC via Steam, but the game is also coming for Xbox Series X|S, after the official release.
Incidentally, another thing that will have to wait until the official release is paying for the game. Instead of launching the game in early access, the pre-release builds are distributed for free as a playable demo on Steam.
