CMON’s Zombicide board game franchise is quite prolific. The undead-fueled experience has had official steampunk versions, a licensed Iron Maiden crossover, and even a crossover pack with Supernatural. Now Zombicide DCeased brings undead caped wonders to the series.
The Zombicide DCeased Kickstarter campaign
According to the official Kickstarter campaign, Zombicide DCeased is an adaptation of the comic event of the same name.
In this Elseworlds story, Darkseid accidentally creates a techno-organic virus after meddling with the Anti-Life Equation. This Anti-Life Virus quickly spreads across the universe, turning people into feral zombies. And no one – humans, amazons, Kryptonians, even Martians – is safe.
Based on the core mechanics of the main game, Zombicide DCeased brings relentless zombie action to the comic book world of DC Comics. It is a co-op game where 1-6 players control one of the last uninfected superheroes and work together to repel the Anti-Life horde.
Naturally, these still-living superheroes will have enhanced abilities and Heroic Traits, making them stand out from regular survivors. Players can also collect unique equipment to help such as Aquaman’s trident, Nth metal axes, or some of Lex Luthor’s battlesuits
There is only one pledge level for Zombicide DCeased. The Anti-Life Pledge at $130 will get you the full board game. Said board game will include the following:
- 85 unpainted miniatures
- 6 color bases
- 6 plastic dashboards
- 12 plastic cubes
- 6 dice
- 130 cards
- 9 double-sided tiles
- 60 tokens
Those miniatures include both living DC characters and their anti-life zombified former friends. Survivors include Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman, Batman, Cyborg, Green Canary, Green Arrow, and The Flash.
As for Zombie Heroes with miniatures, they include Superman, Aquaman, the Hal Jordan Green Lantern, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, and Catwoman.
Furthermore, there are several stretch goals. These goals unlock additional survivors like Blue Beetle and Booster Gold as well as new Zombie Heroes like Steel. These unlocks are Kickstarter exclusive and will not be coming to retail.
At the time of writing, Zombicide DCeased has reached its Kickstarter goal of $300,000. It is currently sitting at $405,698 funded. The Kickstarter concludes on November 30.
