Re: Gordon Lightfoot’s fans, former classmates want Highway 400 renamed in his honour, online, March 27

What a stellar idea to have Highway 400 named after the iconic Gordon Lightfoot. I grew up listening to his music. Black Day in July, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and one of the best songs ever to be put out in the ’70s, Sundown.
Yes, there have been other Canadian artists before and after, but none could hold a candle to the Great Gordo.

ANY BANDAGE COLOUR FINE WITH ME
Re: Not just soft pink: The Ottawa Hospital offers patients ‘skin-coloured bandages,’ online, April 1
A Band-Aid woke solution? The Ottawa Hospital is now offering inclusive bandages?
I don’t know about you, but if I’m bleeding from a surface wound, I couldn’t care less what colour the soon to be discarded adhesive strip is. Good grief, enough already of this woke world lunacy!

CRUEL AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL?
Re: Canada’s treatment of monstrous offenders a Supreme injustice, March 26
So our esteemed Supreme Court has come up with another zinger. The emphasis is now on rehab for the real bad guys instead of punishment. Apparently very long sentences are “cruel and unconstitutional” and tend to bring the “administration of justice into disrepute.”
I would like one of those Supremers to ask Paul Bernardo how he is enjoying his stay at his currently comfortable resort. The only thing bringing the “administration of justice into disrepute” is the fact that he is living where he is living.

LIBERALS ARE BUNGLING IT
Listening to the Liberals in any of the various committees just reinforces their gross ineffectiveness and incompetency. They all mention how seriously they take things, yet take no responsibility and play dumb when the waste of taxpayer dollars goes on continuously right under their noses. This bungling, unaccountable Liberal government and bureaucracy is totally inept and out of control.
