Xbox Lifting Bans on Baldur’s Gate 3 Users Banned for Clips With Adult Content

Earlier this week, reports started to surface about Xbox users getting banned due to uploading clips of Baldur’s Gate 3 including mature content.

Larian mentioned on January 4 via director of publishing Michael Douse’s X (formerly Twitter) account, that the developer was in talks with Microsoft to solve the situation.

Today Larian announced that the bans should begin to lift, adding that work is ongoing and Microsoft is aware of the issue.

Yet, Larian still mentioned that while the issue is solved, fans who want to upload clips on Xbox should turn off mature content.

Players whose capture clips have been flagged on Xbox should now see their bans begin to lift. Work is ongoing, and the Microsoft team is aware of the issue! If you’re wanting to upload any clips in the meantime, make sure to turn off mature content

Douse himself also added that Larian is engaged in discussion with Microsoft about the issue, but he’ll let the house of Xbox itself handle the discussions about their policies.

This is not the first issue Xbox users had to face while playing Baldur’s Gate 3, with another problem causing save games to disappear on Microsoft’s console.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a physical Deluxe Edition coming on all of the platforms mentioned in the first quarter of 2024. A specific release date for that one has not been announced just yet.

The game has recently been voted Game of the Year at The Game Awards, the Golden Joystick Awards, and even the Steam Awards.
