Xbox players are seemingly in for a treat later this year, as the gaming platform’s achievements section is reportedly getting an overhaul at some point. Unfortunately, details on the upcoming changes remain scarce at the time of writing, as the Microsoft gaming brand has yet to confirm these rumors. However, that hasn’t stopped a few fans from speculating or, at the very least, suggesting what tweaks they’d like to see once the updates do arrive.
With the Xbox Game Pass January 2024 games list shaping up to be a hit and the rest of the year’s release calendar already containing plenty of exciting drops, the achievements overhaul, once it arrives, will essentially serve as the cherry on top for Microsoft console loyalists. Alas, fans will have to wait indefinitely because, according to Nick “Shpeshal Nick” Baker in an XboxEra podcast episode, a 2024 launch is the only certainty for now.
Over on Reddit, fans are hoping for a few convenient tweaks that’ll let them display their favorite achievements, with one user saying: “My guess is medals and you can pin X amount to your profile page, the ones you’re most proud of.” Another player, on the other hand, wants a system similar to that of PlayStation’s, with DLC achievements being located in a separate list from the base game and “better tracking for the ones in progress.” Conversely, others simply request a fix to the ongoing issue with unobtainable achievements.
As always, since the alleged overhaul to Xbox achievements hasn’t been confirmed by Xbox, we recommend taking these details with a generous helping of salt for now. However, we will continue to provide more details as soon as it’s officially announced, so stay tuned.
