Right before the game’s launch, WWE 2K24 shocked early access players by erasing their progress. This has dropped the game to a Mostly Negative rating on Steam. It’s a disappointing outcome for a game that has largely positive reviews from critics.

WWE 2K24 players are angry over losing early access progress
Several reviews of WWE 2K24 over at Steam highlight the frustration of players who’ve lost their progress right before the main launch. “I just can’t do everything again,” laments a player. What adds insult to injury is that these players are some of the most devoted in the WWE fanbase. Early access to the game is a perk offered to $100 Deluxe Edition and $120 40 Years of WrestleMania Edition owners only.
Players also reported not being able to access their premium DLC. Player Shirogitsune believes that the developers temporarily removing the Nightmare Family DLC from Steam disabled access to the game. Another player RufusMGS warns newcomers to “save their save data at Steam folder > userdata > user-id > 2315690 > remote.” Refunds may be a dicey situation as these players have logged dozens of in-game hours as the early access period started 3 days ago on March 5, 2024.
Losing your MyRISE campaign data before launch is a daunting prospect and will ward away potential customers of the game. Consider reaching out to WWE 2K24’s support page if you’re facing this issue. This error dampens the hype around this highly anticipated title and we hope that it’s resolved quickly.
