With Warner Bros. talking about converting its biggest franchises into always-online titles with live service elements, there was a fear that the same would happen to Monolith Productions’ Wonder Woman. A listing for Lead Software Engineer, Gameplay, at the developer asking for “experience helping maintain a live software product or game” didn’t help either.

However, in a statement to IGN, a Warner Bros. spokesperson denied any live service allegations for the open-world title. “Wonder Woman is a single-player action-adventure game set in a dynamic open world. This third-person experience will allow players to become Diana of Themyscira and introduce an original story set in the DC Universe while also featuring the Nemesis System. Wonder Woman is not being designed as a live service.”

Very little is known about the title since it was announced in December 2021. While there’s still the possibility of microtransactions (because it is Warner Bros., after all), the fact that Wonder Woman is seemingly not focused on live service is good. Time will tell how it turns out, though.

In the meantime, WB Games does have Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launching on February 2nd, 2024, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, which features a Battle Pass. Head here for more details on its story and gameplay.
