One of the most thrilling parts of playing Baldur’s Gate 3 is how you can take control of a character and explore the world at your own pace, doing what you like, when you want to. There’s also a wide variety of different side quests and missions you can go on while you play through the game, which spices things up even more. In one of these quests, while you explore the Druid Grove in Act 1, you will have the chance to save the tiefling Arabella. This is something we recommend doing, as it opens up your game to further possibilities with Arabella, including the Act 2 quest where she requests your help in finding her parents. Keep reading to learn all about that quest and how you can complete it!
How Do You Complete Arabella’s Act 2 Quest?
In order to complete this quest, you will first need to start it off! You need to speak with Arabella, who is on the east side of the House of Healing, which is a place that’s west of the Mason’s Guild. Arabella will be standing at the coordinates X: -153, Y: 10. When you begin talking with her, ask about her parents and make sure that you remember the information she tells you. In case you miss or forget it, her parents were last seen in Shadow Cursed Lands, and their names are Komira and Locke.
Finding Arabella’s Parents
Fortunately, this quest will not take too long for you to complete. Your first step is to enter the House of Healing, which is right beside where you spoke with Arabella. You will then need to travel to the east wing of the establishment. Search for the merchant icon of Sister Lidwin, and nearby you will find Arabella’s parents. Sadly, they are both deceased, and only their bodies are left. They are lying next to Sister Lidwin, who you will need to speak with next.
We recommend asking her some questions in order to learn more about what happened, and how they ended up deceased. Sister Lidwin is attempting to heal Arabella’s parents and does not realize that they have already passed. Therefore, either convince her that they have died or say that she has healed them to finish your conversation. No matter what option you choose, be wary as you will have to roll for the outcome to see if you are successful. If you convince her that she has failed in her task, she will become hostile, so try to appease her if you would like to avoid a fight.
One last thing to note about this part of the quest is the ‘Speak with the Dead’ spell is available for you to use should you wish, and you can use it to talk with Arabella’s father. Additionally, you can choose to kill Sister Lidwin after the encounter, but she is a vendor and thus you will lose a merchant who is selling Purple Worm Poison. In our opinion, it is better to leave her be and keep the purchase option available for you in the future, should you need it.
Tell Arabella the News
Another tragic part of this quest is that you will have to tell Arabella about her deceased parents. Once she finds out, you will need to take a long rest in order to let her get over her shock, and then you can collect your reward. After all, who doesn’t like goodies from a person grieving their parents? Arabella will gift you the Shadowblade Ring, which will let you cast Shadow Blade, a second-level spell. Arabella will also allow you to unlock a special ability later on in the game, known as Arabella’s Shadow Entangle. It will only trap shadow and undead monsters, so it’s especially good against those types of enemies. All in all, not too shabby for a hard day’s work. Just make sure to check in on Arabella from time to time and see how she’s holding up with her loss.
