In the A Rift In Time expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley, players can now befriend cobras, a new critter that’s come along to populate the valley. Cobras may look scary and better off left alone, but they make a companion as good as any other.
Where to find the Cobras in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The A Rift In Time expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley brings a lot of new critters for you to befriend, the cobras being one of them. Despite not being fluffy and cute like other critters in the game, they’re the perfect critter to populate their region, and they’re soft on the inside, if that counts.
These cobras can be found slithering around in the vast and hot desert named the Glittering Dunes in Eternity Isle.
There are five different color variants these cobras in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and they all spawn in different regions. Here is a list of all variants and where you can find them in the Glittering Dunes:
- Classic Cobra – can be found in The Plains.
- Blue and Red Striped Cobra – can be found in The Wastes.
- Green and White Striped Cobra – can be found in The Borderlands.
- Pink Spotted Cobra – can be found in The Oasis.
- Yellow and Purple Striped Cobra – can be found in The Borderlands.
Each of these cobras act the same, they just spawn in different locations in their region and have different aesthetics. They all are befriended in the exact same way, thankfully.

Now that you know where to find each cobra, let’s go over how you can befriend them using their favorite food. The cobras favorite food are eggs, which can be bought at Chez Remy for 220 Star Coins each.
You can befriend a cobra without using their favorite food, but it’ll take much longer, as their favorite food raises their friendship level considerably more than normal food.
When approaching a cobra, keep going near it until it notices you. As soon as it does, you’ll be ensnared in a game of “red light green light”. When the cobra’s head is lowered, you can approach it. As soon as it raises its head, you’ll have to completely freeze. If you move during that time, it’ll run away, and you’ll have to start again.
When you’re close enough to the cobra, you can feed it its favorite food. You will have to do that more than once to fully befriend it, and you can only do this once per day for all the cobras, so choose which one you want before feeding a cobra.
