Players will explore the Lower Decks of their Voidship during Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader‘s Dark Echelons quest, and they will find several valves that they can interact with in this area. While fans are free to completely ignore those valves, they serve as something akin to a puzzle that awards some items upon completion. For those players that would like to claim those items, this guide contains details on how to solve the Lower Decks valves puzzle in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader.
Before detailing the solution to the Lower Decks valve puzzle, it is worth mentioning that the rewards for completing it are three Force Grenades, one Krak Grenade, three Melta Charges, and three Multikeys. While some players will be happy to add those items to their inventories, they are not particularly exciting and are certainly not required for advancement. Notably, this is not the only puzzle in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader with lackluster rewards, though some are definitely worth solving.
Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader – Profit Factor Explained (& How to Increase It)
Profit Factor is a very important mechanic in Warhamer 40,000: Rogue Trader, and this guide will help players understand how it works.
Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader – Lower Decks Valves Puzzle
The first step toward solving the Lower Decks valve puzzle is interacting with a Manometer, a device that is affixed to a pipe in the southeast corner of the area. Notably, this device is just past the position in which the confrontation with the strikers occurs, and its location is marked on this map:
After interacting with the Manometer, Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader players must set their sights on locating a Lower Decks valve that is attached to a pipe that is emitting steam. Interacting with that valve will cause the steam to dissipate, and fans must then locate a newly-steaming pipe and interact with the valve that is connected to it. Players who repeat this process several more times will ultimately be lead to a valve that is attached to a pipe with a container inside of it, and fans who interact with that valve will be able to loot the cache.
While players that follow these instructions should be able to solve the Lower Decks puzzle, some Warhammer fans may struggle to locate all the valves in the area. The following map, which showcases the positions of the valves, should prove useful to those players, and the order that was used to solve the puzzle for this guide has been noted. That said, the order in which the pipes emit steam may vary from one playthrough to another, and fans should not be surprised if they have a slightly different solution.
To note, players will receive indication that nothing has happened if they interact with a valve that is not connected to a steaming pipe. Fans need not be concerned if they receive that message, though, as it has absolutely no impact on the puzzle. This means that CRPG fans can solve this puzzle simply by interacting with the valves on the Lower Decks at random.
