Nacon and developer Brave Lamb Studio have announced the War Hospital release date.

The management sim, which will, as you’ve probably guessed, let you oversee your very own World War I-era medical facility, is coming to PC via Steam on January 11th.

War Hospital was originally set to launch in 2023, but Nacon and Brave Lamb delayed the game beyond its initial release window in October, promising it would instead arrive in the first quarter of 2024.

War Hospital is coming in January next year, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be a cheery experience.

To accompany the release date announcement, Nacon and Brave Lamb have also released a new trailer for War Hospital.

It’s not a particularly informative trailer, showing off just a couple of snippets of gameplay and atmosphere, but it sets up what you can expect from War Hospital nicely.

If you’re not familiar with War Hospital, it’s a management sim that tasks you with becoming “the ray of hope among the darkness of war”.

You’ll oversee a British World War I field hospital, dealing with the horrific injuries sustained by frontline World War I fighters during one of the darkest periods of human history.

War Hospital will share similarities with society survival sims like 11 bit studios’ Frostpunk and This War of Mine, so it should serve as a great way to stave off those Frostpunk 2 cravings.

Nacon and Brave Lamb promise that War Hospital will challenge both your tactical understanding and your moral compass; you’ll need to make some difficult decisions on how to use what few resources you have at your disposal.

In addition, War Hospital will feature realistic depictions of British field hospitals during World War I, as well as “innovative WWI medical technology” that should at least help you save a few lives.

War Hospital is due to arrive on PC via Steam on January 11th. No console release date has been announced as yet.
