In V Rising, players can change their blood type by draining all sorts of creatures, but which type is the best?
Well, that depends on what activity you are going to perform. Blood from the Worker type, for example, is mostly useless in combat, but helps a lot when farming for resources.
If we are speaking strictly about combat, however, then we can start ranking things.
Below you can find a list of blood types that can be found in V Rising, ranging from worst to best when it comes to combat:
Frail
The Frail blood type gives no bonuses whatsoever, and it’s the weakest blood type your vampire can drain.
Being in a frail state is better than succumbing to thirst, but it’s not a position you want to be in, especially in PvP servers.
Players can acquire this blood type by eating rats or hearts, which is not recommended to do unless you are in a pinch.
Worker
- Tier I 10%-30% Increased Resource yield
- Tier II 15%-25% Increased Damage against Resource Objects
- Tier III 10%-20% Increased Mount Gallop Speed
- Tier IV 3% chance to instantly destroy a resource node and trigger a burst of speed
- Tier V Boost all above effects by 30%
Worker blood gives various bonuses to resource gathering, and it’s generally desirable when looking for specific materials.
The Worker blood type focuses on moving as fast as possible and breaking down resource nodes, but has no combat benefits whatsoever, so make sure to plan ahead when using it, as it’s not a blood type that will allow you to fight back efficiently.
Creature
- Tier I 3-15% Movement Speed
- Tier II 10-25 Increased Sun Resistance rating
- Tier III 10%-20% Damage Reduction
- Tier IV 150% Increased Health Regeneration
- Tier V Boost all above effects by 30%
If you don’t have anything else lying around, Creature blood will do.
The Creature blood type gives bonuses to movement speed, stun resistance, damage reduction, and health regeneration, making it a pretty good blood type for players looking to explore areas where enemies hit a little harder than usual.
The bonuses to movement speed and stun resistance area also a nice utility bonus that the blood type offers, making it a decent combat choice if nothing else is available at the moment.
The abundance of the Creature blood type in V Rising‘s early game means that players will be using it a lot, and there’s nothing wrong with that, as it can be useful in the beginning of the game.
Scholar
- Tier I 10-20% Increased Spell Power
- Tier II 8-15% Reduced cooldown on Spells
- Tier III 5-10% Spell Life Leech
- Tier IV 15% Chance to reset spell cooldown on cast
- Tier V Boost all above effects by 30%
Scholars are all about using spells as efficiently as possible, making for a pretty unique playstyle.
The Scholar blood type gives bonuses to spell power, lowers spell cooldowns, and grants spell life leech. The Scholar blood type can really shine when playing with a group, as a ranged caster attacking from far away is an indispensable tool when engaging other players or bosses.
This blood type doesn’t have much when it comes to survivability, aside from a small amount of life leech, but it can wreak some havoc as a support role.
Rogue
- Tier I 10%-20% chance to Critical Strike on Weapon Attacks
- Tier II 8%-15% Movement Speed
- Tier III 12%-25%’ Reduced cooldown on Travel Skill, 100% chance to critical strike on next physical attack after using a travel skill
- Tier IV 50% Chance on Critical Strike to expose victim’s armor, increasing damage taken from all sources by 15% for 4s
- Tier V Boost all above effects by 30%
The Rogue is a self-explanatory blood type, focusing on hit-and-run tactics that will strike enemies for a massive amount of damage.
Rogues have a massive bonus to critical hits and movement speed, making them an incredibly mobile threat, which hits extremely hard.
Rogues can pair up with Warriors or Brutes to deal damage without being the center of attention, and are bound to score some high damage with their bonuses to critical hits.
Warrior
- Tier I 10-20% Increased Physical Power
- Tier II 8-15% Reduced cooldown on Weapon Skills
- Tier III 8-15% Reduced damage taken and 25% increased damage when striking enemies at full health
- Tier IV 15% Chance to parry an attack reducing damage taken by 50%. Parrying an attack increases your own damage by 20%.
- Tier V Boost all above effects by 30%
The Warrior and Brute blood types are extremely similar to each other, but focus on different things. While the Brute focuses on primary attacks, the Warrior focuses on weapon skills.
The Warrior would be the best blood type in the game if the Brute didn’t have such an incredible survivability. That said, the bonuses to damage and mitigation that the Warrior brings to the table are nothing to scoff at.
Brute
- Tier I 7.5%-12.5% Primary attack Life Leech
- Tier II 7.5%-15% Increased Primary Attack Speed and gain 1 Gear Level
- Tier III Healing received increased by 20%-35%. Heal self for 4% of your victim’s health when striking a killing blow.
- Tier IV 6% chance per relative health recovered to boost movement speed by 20% and damage of primary attacks by 25%
- Tier V Boost all above effects by 30%
The Brute blood type has everything a player could ever want, including: Movement speed, life leech, attack speed, and healing.
Brutes are the first to enter a fight and the last ones to leave, featuring an incredible amount of damage and sustain, perfect for drawn-out fights against bosses or enemy groups.
V Rising is available on Microsoft Windows (through Steam).
