Helldivers 2 is a game that allows for many different players styles, which each member of the team complimenting each other and working together to take out the endless hordes of Terminids and Automatons. There are many weapons to choose from and, although some have become the set meta used by most players, there are numerous weapons that have a good use case that are often overlooked.
A Helldivers 2 player on Reddit shared some useful information to the community to help them take out the Terminids with ease, specifically the recently added Shriekers. According to the player, the weapon of choice to easily dispatch Shriekers nests is to use the Laser Cannon, a very uncommonly used weapon. The players notes the reason why Helldivers tend to not use it is because is deals damage too slowly so it feels “like you’re doing almost no damage to Chargers or Bile Titans.”
The Laser Cannon can be a great weapon for one member of the team to carry by using it to weaken the Charger’s exposed parts to allow for the other players to finish it off. But, where it really shines is using it to take out Shriekers nests. The player noted that they were able to destroy the nest before the Laser Cannon managed to overheat, and it can be done up to 200 meters away, meaning you can do it from relative safety and not become overwhelmed by the flying Terminids trying to stop you.
