Update May 31st 7:32AM: EA has officially confirmed that The Sims 4 is getting limited-time Events, the first of which will reward players for logging in over a period of four weeks.
Said Event should be available now and will give you the chance to claim rewards like new furniture, aesthetic options for your Sim, and the Practice Makes Perfect trait, among other things.
You can check out the official EA FAQ for this new Sims 4 feature right here. Original story follows below.
Original story: If you’ve ever played The Sims 4 and found yourself wishing that it had some kind of daily login-based battle pass-style system, presumably because you don’t like fun, then you’re in luck.
According to an unlisted video on the official Sims YouTube channel, The Sims 4 is about to get a new system called “Login Events”, which will offer battle pass-esque tracks of free items you can get for logging in “a few days each week”.
Players in The Sims 4‘s community have also datamined the game’s latest patch to uncover more information about the system, which will seemingly offer the chance to unlock eight different items, one of which is a Trait for your Sims.
It’s worth noting that there doesn’t seem to be any kind of paid component to this system, so it’s not quite the same as the battle passes you’d find in, say, Fortnite or Overwatch 2.
Still, a system that rewards daily logins and seemingly punishes players for missing a day or two by withholding items from them doesn’t seem like the best addition for a casually-oriented single-player experience like The Sims 4.
Another thing that’s worth mentioning here is that EA hasn’t officially announced this system yet; the video introducing the daily login rewards remains unlisted, and the info we’ve got about the system is from datamines and community efforts rather than reveals direct from EA.
Additionally, according to YouTuber SatchOnSims, much of the “battle pass” material consists of reskinned versions of items from previous Sims 4 DLC packs.
All of the content being offered as part of these new Sims 4 daily login rewards appears to be free, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was some kind of test run for a premium battle pass component later down the line, especially given EA’s history when it comes to paid extras in games.
For now, though, this Sims 4 feature remains a glint in EA’s eye, although it’s likely to be added in the coming weeks or even days. Stay tuned for more.
