2023 kept PlayStation owners busy. The year produced Resident Evil 4 (remake), Diablo 4, Street Fighter 6, Final Fantasy 16, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, just to mention a few major releases. The PlayStation 5 library is consistently expanding, and the best is presumably yet to come for Sony’s current console. In the meantime, the PlayStation 4 continues to receive love with cross-generation titles, so people who have yet to upgrade still have plenty to look forward to.
Which PS5 games are coming soon to shelves around the world? Which 2024 PS5 games are on the horizon? The upcoming calendar lists every notable PS5 and PS4 project, along with their North American release date if that information has been announced.
Updated January 10, 2024: As 2024 is now properly underway, more and more titles will steadily reveal themselves or their debut dates. PS5 & PS4 Games Coming Out In January 2024
Last Of Us, Tekken, & More
2024 should get off to a pretty good start, especially once its first two weeks are done and dusted. This should not be that surprising since February and March tend to be stacked with releases, and that momentum can typically be traced back to the second half of January.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a side-scrolling spin-off that was revealed to a mixed response since it is not exactly what everyone wants out of Ubisoft’s beloved property. However, in isolation, The Lost Crown looks like it could be an entertaining action-adventure game. January 2024 will end on a high note with Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Tekken 8 both launching on the same day. The former is a turn-based RPG that will almost certainly have a long and engrossing story, while the latter should be one of the fighting genre’s most prominent releases of the year.
Naughty Dog and Sony have announced that The Last of Us 2 Remastered will be debuting just a few weeks into the year, and the package contains a few new features like a roguelike survival mode.

The Nintendo Switch’s library is vast, and it is constantly growing. Here are all the upcoming major Switch games and their release dates.
PS5 & PS4 Games Coming Out In February 2024
Final Fantasy, Helldivers, & More
If January 2024 gets the year rolling, then February will get it swinging. The month is packed to the brim with exciting titles. Persona 3 Reload, Helldivers 2, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and Skull and Bones all have release dates within two weeks of each other, and they are hardly the only notable titles coming out during this period. While not all these projects are surrounded by positive press, they are nevertheless major names that will spark a lot of discourse, for both better or worse. Persona 3 Reload is a modern remake of one of Atlus’ greatest JRPGs and one of the genre’s best releases ever; at the bare minimum, the 2024 version should be at least good.
Helldivers 2 is set to be quite a departure from its top-down predecessor since it is a third-person shooter, albeit one that still focuses on co-op. Even though Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has garnered a fair amount of criticism since its gameplay reveal, writing off Rocksteady before the game’s full release would be premature. Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones has had a rough development cycle consisting of multiple delays.
February 2024 will end with the PS5’s biggest release: Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth. Building on the remake/reboot’s success, the sequel has the potential to be even better, especially since it could take the story in a far more unpredictable direction.

Rumored PS5 & PS4 Games
Rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt; that said, speculating about what unrevealed titles are secretly in development for the PS5 can be a lot of fun. With the PS5 in full swing, rumors have started making the rounds as people begin to speculate on what games they would love to see make an appearance on the console. Could these releases take the form of long-overdue sequels? Much needed remakes? Or could there be some new IP in the works that will become the new GTA?
