Gaming has been a great opportunity for players to put themselves in the shoes of their ancestors and those from some of the most significant events in history. The upcoming United 1944 seeks to provide a new survival-crafting spin on the World War II shooter genre, releasing a new trailer alongside the beta release today.

Players can request access to the beta on the Steam page, with the overview trailer for the new Survivor game mode being shown below. Novarama CEO and United 1944 game director Dani Sanchez gives a rundown of the new mode, with a UI reminiscent of Battlefield with weapon and base crafting. However, in this new mode, players will be left alone on a battlefield to face off against other soldiers.

As a solo survivor or in groups, this game mode has elements of games like Rust as the player works to try and survive the war by crafting their own outposts. From there, players will be able to resupply and have a place to defend when things begin to get more chaotic. It can be placed anywhere, creating unique strategic opportunities and allowing them to respawn from where they want.

The game doesn’t have to be endless survival though, as there is an extraction mechanic that will allow players to leave once they’ve “collected” enough treasure from around the locales where they’ve landed. By upgrading their tech to an extraction flare, they can send the treasure home. In the future, it will be translated to some form of currency to customize your character and load-outs.
