The game itself was inspired by the bestselling novel Into Thin Air. Written by Jon Krakauer. It details the author’s own experiences during the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, which contributed to one of the deadliest seasons in the mountain’s history. Suffice to say, the developers have certainly done their homework.
