Trump joins Elon Musk, Melania Trump and other high-profile supporters in rallying support in his native New York, where he is largely unpopular. His comments were offensive and insulting, as was often the case.

His wife, Melania Trump, has made few appearances during the campaign, while former wrestling star Hulk Hogan has previously spoken in Manhattan.

Trump, who hails from Queens, New York, had a brilliant rise as a real estate company heir in New York in the late 1970s and 1980s that helped him gain national prominence.
