Sen. Tim Scott, R.S.C., is considering a run for the top position on the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) for the next election cycle.
A spokesperson for Scott confirmed in a statement to Fox News Digital that the senator is running for the position.
“The senator is grateful for the encouragement he received from colleagues to run for NRSC president,” said Scott spokesman Nathan Brandt. “He is working tirelessly to return Donald Trump to the White House and take over the U.S. Senate, and then hopes to increase the Republican majority in 2026.”

Sens. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, are running for re-election in 2026.
With North Carolina's recent polls and electoral moves toward Democrats, defending Tillis' seat could become more costly for Republicans.

As for Cornyn, he is able to handle early challenges from other Republicans who have criticized him. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton hinted at a possible fight against a senator in social media posts earlier this year.
Collins remarkably survived his last re-election run, winning a surprising split victory despite running alongside Trump. His seat will likely be seen as an excellent opportunity for Democrats.
