Tom Holland thrilled Spider-Man fans this week when Zendaya read an early draft of the script for the highly anticipated fourth film.
The British star, 28, who has played the network dubbing hero since 2017, made the big reveal while appearing on Thursday's episode of the Rich Roll podcast.
Although he and Zendaya think the script is “great,” Holland admits that it “needs work.”
“But the writers do a great job,” he joked.
Incorporating Spider-Man 4 into the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe was a big challenge, as Marvel Studios releases three films each year.

“The thing is, with Marvel, your movie is a small cog in a big machine,” Holland explained.
'That engine must keep running. You need to make sure you fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture.
“This is one of the challenges we face. The time we need to do it is long, but it can certainly be achieved with the people we are working with now.
“We have creativity, we have a launch and a draft, which is great,” Hollande told the host. “It takes work, but the writers do a great job.”
He later revealed that he and his co-star-turned-girlfriend Zendaya got a first draft of the script together last month.
“I read it three weeks ago and it lit a fire in me,” Holland said.
“Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and at times we were jumping around the living room, it's a real movie that deserves the respect of fans.”
He did not reveal any information about the film's plot during the podcast appearance.
Holland has played Peter Parker/Spider-Man in three films: Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019) and No Way Home (2021).
He also played a Marvel superhero in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
Before Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield played the caped crusader on the big screen.

Meanwhile, Zendaya stars alongside Holland as Michelle 'MJ' Jones-Watson, Peter Parker's classmate-turned-girlfriend, in all three films.
In April 2024, Holland confirmed that he would return for a fourth Spider-Man film.
Speaking to reporters at the Sands International Film Festival in St Andrews, Scotland, he said: “The simple answer is that I've always wanted to make Spider-Man movies.
'I owe my life and my career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. “I always wanted to do more.”
'Whatever the story, we are the best in the business. But until we overcome it, there is a legacy to protect. The third film is so special in many ways that we have to make sure we're doing it right.
'It's the first time I've been part of a creation so early in the process. It's just a process I've seen and learned. It's a really fun platform for me. Like I said, everyone wants that to happen.
“But we want to make sure we don't overdo the same things,” he added.
2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home ended on a dramatic cliffhanger with Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) casting a spell to erase all memories of Peter Parker's world, including his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya).

'All I can say is that we have a history. “He has great ideas, our writers are just putting pen to paper,” he joked.
However, development was stalled in May 2023 due to a 148-day strike by the Writers Guild of America (WGA).
A few months after the strike ended, Holland worried Spider-Man fans at the Critics Choice Association that he would only return if he could do the fourth film “justice.”
“I can tell you that we are actively involved in conversations about what my character's fourth scene would be like,” he revealed at the time.
“Whether the character receives justice or not is another question.”
The Spider-Man trilogy starring Holland was directed by John Watts.
But director Destin Daniel Gretton, known for Marvel's Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), is in 'talks' to acquire the franchise. September Variety.
