If there was any doubt as to why the most rabid antisemites in the country, including Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), love Tim Walz, a new scandal is providing clarity on that matter.
As RedState has reported extensively, Walz, who Kamala Harris recently selected as her running mate, has been slammed with allegations of stolen valor. In multiple cases, he insinuated or outright stated that he had deployed to a war zone despite skipping out on the only combat deployment he ever faced, a move that turned many of his fellow soldiers against him. The Minnesota governor also misstated his rank in government documents and campaign press releases, claiming to have retired as a Command Sergeant Major when he was actually demoted for never completing the required training.
Now, Walz is facing another scandal of his own making after it was revealed that he repeatedly hosted a radical Muslim cleric who praised Hamas on October 7th and promoted a film lauding Adolf Hitler.
It’s no great mystery why antisemites like Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and Mehdi Hasan were overjoyed with the selection of Walz. He has proven himself to be part of their camp. It’s also no great mystery why Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who would have been far preferable electorally, was passed over for the VP nod.
It would have been one thing had Walz hosted this lunatic once by mistake. That happens. Sometimes, people show up at an event, and a politician simply can’t be expected to have vetted every single person he interacts with. That’s not what happened here, though. Walz clearly knew who this guy was because he continued to associate with him over multiple years and multiple events.
At this point, you have to wonder whether Harris did any vetting of her VP pick. Every day, there’s some new revelation that shows him to be an awful choice. She was either incredibly arrogant, believing she could weather any storm while appeasing the Islamists in her party, or she was incredibly negligent. Both should be disqualifying.
With all that said, I believe Harris is stuck. To make a switch just prior to the DNC would be a major admission of defeat, and I don’t think she would even entertain doing that voluntarily. Democrats are stuck with Walz, and from what I’m hearing, there’s a lot more to come on various subjects.
