Three veteran The Big Bang Theory cast members are returning for the Max spin-off

They tried it on “How I Met Your Mother,” they’re currently trying it on the Australian version of “The Office,” and you can bet they’ll try to recapture lightning in a bottle with “The Big Bang Theory” — until morale improves or the universe heats up. Whichever comes first gets us all out of trouble. In a move that seems to appeal to the same demographic that made “Young Sheldon” such a breakout hit (in other words, no one really cares about “Yellowstone” and its spin-offs, “The Mayor of Kingstown,” and all the other series currently streaming on Paramount+). With legions of viewers consuming non-talking shows, original series creator Chuck Lorre hopes to keep “The Big Bang Theory” empire a staple on television for the foreseeable future, and he's bringing a trio of familiar faces along for the ride.

Three of the original stars from Deadline's “The Big Bang Theory” — Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn and Lauren Lapkus — have signed (no doubt lucrative) deals with Warner Bros. Television to reprise their roles as Stuart Bloom and Bert Kibler. and Denise in the spin-off series respectively. If that exact wording seems a little awkward, that's because even the original report admits that no other details are known at this point: not the title, not the plot, not even whether the show will be greenlit. the light Scripts are currently being written, and Deadline notes that the full production is in the “early stages of development.”

The Big Bang Theory spin-off will stream on Max

You've watched all 12 seasons of “The Big Bang Theory” finally come to an end, you've slogged through “Young Sheldon” for seven total seasons, and you're keeping tabs on “Georgie & Mandy's First Wedding,” Another one The spin-off series will premiere later this month. Now, series creators are betting that viewers will want to keep up the good times (and obnoxious laugh tracks) with their latest series. The new series centers on the power couple of Stuart, the owner of a popular comic book store from the “Big Bang Theory” gang, and his curmudgeonly girlfriend, Denise, who happens to be the store's assistant manager. It also pits Bert Kibler, the rock-obsessed geologist/amateur guitarist we last saw in the finale of “The Big Bang Theory.”

The Deadline article notes that this isn't actually all we're hearing about the untitled spin-off, as news first broke of a series with two male leads and one female lead (you know, kind of like this setup). the original series that kicked it all off) and is rumored to be set mainly in Stewart's comic book store. If it gets a chance to take off like “The Big Bang Theory,” it's fair to assume that before you know it, the cast will expand until we're reporting on the spin-offs here / on film. This is The spin-off and streaming era of comedy “The Big Bang Theory” was completely transcended by the side characters. It's all inevitable, folks.
