Two years after her divorce from Corey Hartricht, actress Thea Mowry has revealed that she will gift her wedding ring to her two children.
The Sister, Sister star got emotional as she admitted she was taking her wedding ring out of the drawer it had been sitting in so she could pass it on to her children Cree, 13, and Cairo, six.
The 46-year-old – who married Corey in 2008 – opened up about wanting to do something special for her kids away from the ring in a new episode of her show Thea Mowry: My Next Performance.
She 'regretfully' admitted that the item was no longer a symbol of marriage – and said it was wrong to sell it.
The mum-of-two fought back tears as she watched a jeweler transform the polished rock into a necklace and bracelet.
Two years after her divorce from Corey Hardricht, actress Thea Mowry says she's gifting her wedding ring to her two children.
The Sisters, Sisters star was emotional as she admitted she was pulling her wedding ring out of a drawer so she could pass it on to her children Cree, 13, and Cairo, six (Family as Seen in 2023).
She explained: 'I haven't worn it in almost two years and it just doesn't feel right to sell it. But what I want to do is change my wedding band for my kids. Send it to my children because they are my greatest gift.
Thea tries to keep the ring from falling apart as she explains that she hasn't even seen the ring since it's been sitting in her drawer for two years.
'I'm not wearing it. It just sat there… so beautiful,' she added.
The mother-of-two said she was 'sad', before defending her decision to exchange the diamond for other jewellery, which was not a 'symbol of marriage'.
She explained: 'It's been two years and I want to take my wedding ring and replace it with some nice pieces, jewelery for my two children.'
During a confessional, Thea admitted she was thinking about her ex while at the jewelry store — and said she knew she had to do what was best for her.
'As the man who gave me my wedding ring, it's hard for me not to think about Cory when I decide to recreate my wedding band.
'I was very surprised. So it's very hard for me not to think what he would think.
The 46-year-old – who tied the knot with Corrie in 2008 – revealed in an episode of Thea Mowry: My Next Act that she wanted to do something special for her children from the ring.

He noted 'sorrowfully' that the diamond was no longer a 'symbol of marriage' (seen in 2020) before defending his decision to replace the diamond with other jewellery.
'But at the end of the day, I'm learning that I have to make this decision for myself. As it goes to the kids, I think he'll be fine,” she said.
While at the diamond shop, she decided to make a necklace for Cree and a bracelet for Cairo.
She added: “I think it's so beautiful to change something that was given out of love and give it to your children. It seems to me that my marriage is not wasted. I did the right thing.'

At the time, Thea revealed: 'I've always been honest with my fans and today is no different. Just wanted to share that Corey and I have decided to go our separate ways.
These decisions are never easy and not without tragedy. We co-parent our beautiful children and maintain our friendship.'
While at the diamond shop, she decided to make a necklace for Cree and a bracelet for Cairo.
The mom also revealed that she wasn't shy about letting her kids know when she was upset about her and Corey's divorce.
In the show's first episode, Thea revealed she struggles with the dating scene, branding it 'intimidating' because Corrie is her 'first everything'.
She admitted: 'I wasn't even allowed to date until I was 18,' she said. 'I met Corrie when I was 20 and lost my virginity at 25. There, I said! And then we got married! Boom!'
The mom also revealed that she wasn't shy about letting her kids know when she was upset about her and Corey's divorce.
“The thing as a mother is you're trying to figure out if you should let them see your emotions, your highs and lows,” she added.
The show follows a mother of two as she embarks on the next phase of her life following a divorce from her children's father.
