The Witcher 4 Has Almost 330 Developers Working on it at CD Projekt RED

A new earnings report by CD Projekt RED indicates that almost half of the entire studio is working on the company’s next game—The Witcher 4. The game, currently under development with the codename Polaris, has almost 330 developers working on it as of October 31.

According to the report, CEO Adam Kiciński has confirmed that the studio will continue to expand the team working on the game, and by mid 2024, more than 400 developers will be working on Polaris. Going by the report, currently, the team behind Polaris is the largest one out of all development teams at the studio.

The Witcher 4 is being headed up by Jason Slama as director. Slama has previously worked on The Witcher 3 as well as Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. Earlier this year, Slama stated that the team working on The Witcher 4 will not undergo crunch and overworking; CD Projekt RED has a history of several of its titles being developed under crunch and overworking. “Never on my watch,” said Slama.

CD Projekt RED is yet to officially unveil The Witcher 4, which indicates that the game is still quite early in development.
