If you enjoy life simulators like The Sims, Paradox Tectonic is continuing to showcase its upcoming entry in the series Life by You.
This time around, we get to take an extensive look at a Boutique Hotel, which is one of the venues and workplaces available in the open world of the game.
The developers showcase both the exterior, including a garden to let guests relax when they have some downtime, and the interior.
Inside we find a lobby, where you can check in guests and perform other administrative tasks if your human works at the hotel, and plenty of rooms to explore.
Interestingly, there are also tour buses that bring in visitors to fill up the hotel rooms. At the moment, we don’t know whether these humans are randomly generated or selected in other ways.
It’s worth mentioning that the hotel isn’t set in stone, and players can move it, remove it, or fully customize it however they want using the game’s tools.

Life by You will be released in early access for PC on March 5, 2024.
It was actually scheduled to launch in September according to the plans announced when Paradox revealed the game earlier this year, but it was recently delayed by several months in order to hit the ground running, in response to fan feedback.
If you’d like to read more about Life By You, you can read my preview from Gamescom 2023. While the game certainly needed some more work, it could absolutely represent a valid competitor for The Sims series.
This is especially true considering that Paradox Tectonic is led by Rod Humble, who used to lead The Sims franchise when fan favorite The Sims 3 launched. It’ll be interesting to see if his experience will result in a game capable of shaking up the genre, which EA’s franchise has dominated basically forever.
