The Sims 4 receives regular updates adding new content to the title. In addition to full-fledged expansion packs, Stuff Packs and Kits help to flesh out the content in the title and keep things fresh for players, nearly ten years after its original release. While many fans are looking forward to the next entry in the Sims franchise, The Sims 4 is still going strong.
The Sims 4 Player Creates Spitting Image of Their Cat in the Game
A Sims 4 player online manages to recreate their real-life cat in the game with incredible detail, all the way down to the individual markings.
Now, The Sims 4 has unveiled Urban Homage and Party Essentials, two Kits arriving on the same day. Urban Homage is a kit based around 90s and early 2000s London fashion. The kit is the latest partnership with content creator Danielle “Ebonix” Udogaranya, following news of the Play in Color campaign that will be adding a number of new hairstyles to the game in July. The Urban Homage Kit features urban chic fashion with bold style, adding items like layered jewelry, fancy nails, midriff-baring tops, and more.
Next, the Party Essentials Kit will add a number of props, decor, and tools for throwing parties in The Sims 4. The Kit will include a fog machine, disco ball, new lights, and a “versatile” bar that players will be able to utilize outside of parties, as well. The two Kits will be available on all current Sims 4 platforms. While no price was stated, Kits usually sell for $4.99, so fans can likely expect the same thing here.
What’s Next for The Sims
With The Sims 4‘s tenth anniversary arriving in September, many fans are hoping that EA will finally reveal its successor this year. Currently titled Project Rene, the next Sims game has seen a lot of leaks make it to the internet already. Unfortunately, the developer hasn’t given any timeframe for when the game will release, or even when an official reveal will take place. EA has stated that the game will be free-to-download, likely indicating that the title will switch to having microtransactions to compensate for having no flat fee to start. This may appeal to current fans, as The Sims 4 base game is currently free.
In the meantime, The Sims 4 continues to take steps to be more inclusive. The Sims 4 has recently added cosmetic options like birthmarks, scars, and even vitiligo, a skin condition that leads to patches of skin losing pigmentation. With more tools than ever at their disposal, players can create an impressive array of characters to explore the world of The Sims with.
