The Real Housewives stars are insulted by a fashion designer who refuses to dress them

Fashion designer Christian Siriano has a lot to say about why he doesn't dress Real Housewives stars — explaining it would be 'frustrating.'

Her statement comes after her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in which she insisted she doesn't dress the Housewives stars because they don't pay for them.

The answer came after Cohen asked Siriano, who got her start on the network's hit Project Runway, if she had ever dressed a Real Housewives star before.

'I mean, ever? May be. But listen, they're not on my list because they don't pay,” he said during the show.

However, there was one star who took exception to this – and that was Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newcomer, Bronwyn Newport, who says she's her 'number one' client and actually pays for her 'fit.

Now, in a new red carpet interview with TIME Magazine, Siriano has revealed whether or not he thinks the Real Housewives will pay him on WWHL for calling them out.

“Listen, you know, the thing is, I understand, in this world, sometimes free clothes go around and people are always looking, 'Can I get credit for this, can I get credit for that,'” Siriano said. In a clip posted on TikTok.

'But you know what's hard, I said before, we're not a wardrobe, we do this as a business, that's how we finance our company, I have a lot of employees, a lot of mouths. To feed,' continued the designer.

He admitted it was 'frustrating at times' when things like this happen.

'Hopefully, everyone knows that,' the designer continued.

'And it's not just the housewives, there's a few actors and musicians who understand that, which means Oprah pays, hello,' he added.

In the comments section of TIME's TikTok clip, many seemed to agree with Siriano's take.

'I could see her dressing up for a major launch for a big event, but Real Housewives is polluting her brand,' one gushed.

Another agreed, 'It's a business. Creators should be paid for their work and employees should be paid. If you can't buy, you have to rent.'

'Say this and appreciate it. They do the same with hair and makeup,' said another.

Another TikTok user said, 'Love him, pay him, he's a genius.'

Hilariously, though, this isn't the first time The Real Housewives has had to deal with an unpaid designer outfit.

Ten years ago, Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel accused her former costar Ramona Singer of stealing a dress from the set of her defunct talk show.

At that time, Per OK! Frankel said Magazine Singer told her her dress had fallen out of her car — but later posted a photo on Instagram of herself wearing a frock with her daughter Avery.

The singer later admitted that he had the dress and was going to bring it back to Frankel.

However, it is not clear if she ever returned them.
