My Hero Academia chapter 413 finally dropped and it is safe to say that this week’s chapter was one that fans were holding their breath for. Given how the previous chapter of the story ended, fans were absolutely shocked to know that Deku might actually give up the power of the One For All. This week’s chapter did nothing to bury the idea and only fanned it even further. It looks like My Hero Academia chapter 413 was an elaborate setup for Deku losing his biggest power, and, from here onwards, Horikoshi is most certainly going to dive deeper into the fight between Deku and Shigaraki.
My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Confirms Shigaraki As The Strongest Villain
Shigaraki is confirmed as MHA’s greatest villain by the author himself.
Of course, this battle was never one of brawn and instead, it is one that needs to be fought with bravery, risks, and, of course, through words as well. That is precisely what My Hero Academia chapter 413 set up and it was certainly a decent chapter, to say the least.
Shigaraki’s Weakness
My Hero Academia chapter 413 gave fans quite a lot of information in regards to Shigaraki. At this point, fans expected the series to focus on the final fight in terms of combat, however, oftentimes, that isn’t enough. Fans have already seen Deku try everything that he has against Shigaraki. Not just that, but he has also tried everything that he has to the best of his abilities. When that did not work, it is clear that senselessly drawing more fights is not going to be the answer to taking him down. That is where My Hero Academia chapter 413 shone very well and it finally allowed fans to see a weakness within Shigaraki for the first time.
Surprisingly, a wisp of Star and Stripe was seen in this chapter. Even though Shigaraki believes that he had completely erased her, a wisp of her remains, and it is through this wisp that a pathway to victory has, essentially, opened up. Fans also got to see All Might wake up and even he was able to briefly feel what was going to come next and, at the same time, a gateway to the downfall of Shigaraki Tomura. Essentially, inside of Shigaraki, there is a black mass which is a manifestation of every negative feeling that Shigaraki harbors. His rage, his anger, his sadness, distress, and feelings of wanting to reset everything by destroying it is encapsulated by this dark mass. Shigaraki is absolutely resolute and nothing seems to work on him. However, there is also a crack that Star and Stripe first noticed. This crack was seen by her when they fought, and now, it is going to be utilized by Deku and the vestiges as well.
Kudo’s Plan To Take Down Shigaraki
My Hero Academia chapter 413 also focused heavily on Kudo’s plan to take down Shigaraki. This plan was first teased towards the end of the previous chapter and it was only in this week’s chapter that it was fully elaborated in the story. Essentially, as Kudo mentioned in simple terms, he wishes to hand over the One For All to Shigaraki. Simply put, this is going to be a forced transfer into Shigaraki’s body. While one might think that this will only empower Shigaraki further, which is something that is a massive possibility at this point, it could also open up a weakness for them to exploit and, then, for Deku to use to beat him at his own game.
Kudo mentioned that Shigaraki has absolutely no weaknesses apart from one. This weakness was first mentioned by Star and Stripe and now, he intends to make use of it as well. Inside his body is a crack and this crack signifies the mental weakness and instability inside of him. The idea is for Kudo to probe inside of this crack and cause damage from the inside. It is almost impossible for anyone to defeat Shigaraki physically. He is far above Deku’s level and this was once again confirmed in this week’s chapter.
However, when it comes to a mental battle, Deku is far more resolute and fans have seen that in the story again and again. If Shigaraki has a weakness that can be exploited from the inside, then this is a risk worth taking.
Essentially, by transferring Quirks inside Shigaraki’s body, one would then get the opportunity to probe inside this crack and weaken him mentally. This would then allow Deku a chance to defeat him in combat and fulfill the job.
My Hero Academia: How Bakugo Defeated All For One, Explained
Bakugo takes down All For One in MHA.
While ideally, all the vestiges would need to do this job, for now, only Kudo is being transferred and he’s doing this to test the hypothesis. Of course, there are both upsides and downsides to this. If Kudo’s strategy works, then it is great and Deku is going to be able to defeat Shigaraki.
However, if it doesn’t work, Shigaraki will gain access to Gear Shift, which would make him even more overpowered. Furthermore, losing the power of Gear Shift will essentially lift the side effects from Deku’s body and likely transfer it to Shigaraki, which would make him weaker as well.
Deku Resumes Fighting
My Hero Academia chapter 413 clearly set up Deku losing the power of the One For All eventually and he’s not ready to make this massive sacrifice, especially since this Quirk was inherited by him from his idol and the greatest hero in the history of the series. However, at this point, it is clear that the One For All will be lost and what happens from here onwards is something that fans will need to wait and observe. Deku might not have come to terms with this reality just yet, however, he certainly does not wish to stop fighting.
At the end of the chapter, fans saw him get up once again when Shigaraki made another attempt to defeat him in combat. This time, he used the power of Blackwhip to use his own body like a puppet. Then, he utilized the power to send a mighty shockwave Shigaraki’s way and destroyed his hand, which was likely going to launch a powerful decay at him. Once again, Deku has shown that he does not intend to sit back and watch while Shigaraki takes the upper hand in the battle. He is most likely going to defeat Shigaraki and, with his new puppeteering technique and most likely, Gear Shift being transferred, he is going to be able to fight back once again.
Of course, from here onwards, the battle between Deku and Shigaraki is going to get even more intense. Shigaraki could end up facing problems if Kudo succeeds with his strategy, however, despite that, Deku needs to hold his own and figure out ways to strengthen himself even further, especially now that he has lost both Danger Sense and Gear Shift at the same time.
