Madden 24 players are none too pleased with a specific animation: the Madden 24 broken tackle animation. This animation plays whenever you’ve successfully broken a tackle and are able to keep running. It usually means you shoulder the defender into the ground and step over/beside them. In most cases, it’s a slow-moving animation which allows other defenders to make the tackle and doesn’t really benefit the running back, which is the latest community complaint.
Madden 24 broken tackle is useless, players claim
When you break a tackle in Madden 24, the animation that plays is supposed to look like a real NFL player breaking a tackle and moving on. In Madden, it is often slow and not really advantageous. As u/IceBergSlimZero on Reddit put it, “The animation is so freaking slow that it defeats the purpose of the broken tackle to begin with, by the time the animation is over and you get control back there is a swarm of defenders ga*g ban***g you.”
The community seems to agree with this idea. u/Rapidepi agreed, lamenting the fact that speed seems to be the only factor that matters for a running back, “Juking is insanely overpowered compared to any other mode of breaking/evading a tackle.”
u/JadrianInc agrees, and even went so far as to say that the running back usually gets demolished after the animation finishes playing, as it leaves them susceptible to a massive hit from the defender. Others agreed that it usually doesn’t do much for the ball carrier. In fact, they can sometimes be turned around and when the animation finishes, they’re going the wrong way or not straight up the field.
This is, according to u/dirtypotlicker, an issue with the stiff-arm animation as well. If you successfully do a stiff-arm or a truck and break the tackle, you’ll be lucky to continue running or gain a few yards on the play according to the community. In most cases, a juke attempt is a better idea.
That’s all for the Madden 24 broken tackle animation, but be sure to check out the latest Team of the Week and what happened in the latest update.
