Due to its servers and openness to other players, The Front feels geared towards multiplayer gameplay. Some of us prefer to play survival games without worrying about internet connections or other players. Below, we will explain if there is an offline option for The Front.
You can learn more about the Front through our guides on getting Resin, Crude Oil, or followers. This guide will tell you if you can play The Front offline and without the internet.
Can you play The Front offline?
No, you cannot play The Front in offline mode. You have to join a Dedicated or Private server in order to play The Front, even if you want to play singleplayer. This means that if you lose your internet connection, that’s it for you, so be prepared to play the game as usual but online. While some of these are public servers, the game doesn’t seem to be designed for offline play from what we can see.
You can also just ask for a refund if you were misled into thinking you could play offline.
There is no reason given as to why there is no offline mode, but it is likely the game is designed to be played with friends. To be fair, even the multiplayer proximity chat has issues, so we can see the cracks in the multiplayer design. In time, it will be more for multiplayer users, and we do not expect developers to make offline servers for a game they do not want to be offline.
Since you want to play offline, we assume you want to play by yourself. You should check out our guide on how to play singleplayer in The Front. This involves being in a server by yourself, so it’s still not offline, but at least you get to play alone and make sure no malicious players join you.
