The Finals’ meta, much like other FPSs, constantly changes as players discover each gun’s strengths and weaknesses. And this time, after trying out countless pistols, assault rifles, and SMGs, it seems the game’s community has found their favorite weapon to use in the current meta: the FCAR Recon.
Now, the FCAR Recon, similar to many other weapons in the game, is exclusive to one class, so you’ll have to whip out your best Medium Build loadout in The Finals if you plan on trying it out. Once you try it out, however, you may end up sticking with it permanently because this weapon’s power, combined with the Medium class’s wallhacks – the Recon Senses Specialization – gives you an unfair advantage that essentially guarantees a win – that is, as long as the enemy isn’t using the same build.
Over on Reddit, some players are already lamenting the broken nature of this build, as one player sarcastically posted: “Personally, playing 3 knockout rounds of ranked and then having the entire enemy team in the final round know where my team is the instant we spawn so they can optimally set up from different angles and laser us is my idea of a good time.” Another user noted how the Medium’s unfair combination of “wallhacks, instant revives,” and the FCAR Recon makes it “clearly, and obviously, the balanced class of the finals.”
Of course, players’ constant usage of the FCAR Recon may eventually force Embark Studios to introduce a nerf to this weapon in a future patch. With the game’s developers yet to announce when they’ll be releasing the next update, however, it seems this assault rifle is set to continue its reign of terror in matches for the time being.
