Players of online shooter The Finals are celebrating after a hotfix has been deployed to resolve a major issue that arose as a result of this week’s recent 1.5 update.
Earlier this week, fans were worried that the game’s gunplay would be irrevocably ruined thanks to an unexpected change that resulted in a bloom effect being added when looking down the sights of a weapon. Developer Embark quickly moved to confirm on the game’s official Discord that the issue was indeed an unintentional bug – and that a fix would be in the works. That Hotfix has now landed, to the delight of the game’s community.
“Quite a quick fix, good job Embark” responds HyperXuserXD. “Finally, I can play god bless Embark” agrees ArcaneKazz and “Woohoo! Great news!” adds jacbergey – echoing the positive sentiment to the devs for sorting out the situation so quickly. However, it’s not all good news.
It seems there are still another few issues that haven’t been sorted that players are still facing – most notably a bug that has left console players unable to disable crossplay, forcing them into matches with PC players. The devs are apparently on the case though – according to DFalltidVS who passes on this message from the The Finals Discord. “We’re close to a fix on the issue that has unintentionally caused some console players to be unable to disable crossplay but it did not make it into this update. So stay tuned for the next one.”
In the meantime, you can check out what the new hotfix manages to patch below – and hopefully the community won’t be waiting too long for the next one.
