The first update of Season One of recently-released free to play shooter The Finals is now available, but many members of the game’s community aren’t too happy with the changes. Or rather, the lack of.
The new patch deployed today claims to be “chock-full of quality-of-life improvements and general fixes” according to the post on the game’s official website. However, the patch notes themselves are not substantial, with only eight patch notes provided to fans. “The most awkward patch notes I’ve ever read” says CircusTV. “Post ALL the changes…” demands Enough_Scientist1904. “Lack of transparency is bad for community engagement.”
As some point out, however, the announcement does note that these aren’t necessarily all the changes and tweaks in the update, saying these are “highlights we think you will all care about the most”. According to crimson109 “In Discord the devs replied that the changes listed are all the ones that are “player facing”, so the other 292 changes are backend/behind the scenes s**t. Kind of weird to mention they have 300 lines of changes then say the others are not your concern.”
We’ll have to wait and see how these changes effect the game in the long term – but there’s sure to be more updates in the future as the game continues to welcome more players. Here’s those patch notes, in case you’re curious:
